Artist statement
Whimsical weed pot created from Maple wood with a wood lathe. Once the form was finalized, the vertical lines burned by hand to create the beads. Each bead was hand colored using India Ink (6,210 beads) to create the rainbow pattern. Vessel was finished with an archival protectant to maintain colorfastness of the dye.
