Artist statement
Formed from white stoneware, this ceiling hanging sculpture features chain linked motifs to represent unity and connection. These hopeful sentiments are integral today in a world that feels ever more divided and disconnected. The striking yet simple chains hang from a circular stoneware hoop, adorning the form like jewellery, the links connecting to one another and the main body of the piece. Brass chains hang from the brass ceiling rose and attach to the hoop with brass rings, the golden shine of the metal beautifully contrasting against the matt clay.

This piece is for sculptural use but can also be attached to a wired hanging lightbulb from the centre of the ceiling rose to make it a hanging chandelier.
There is a softness and imperfection attributed to its handmade nature and each piece is entirely unique. Please note that there is a difference in lighting between images and that the stoneware is a soft light cream colour.
