Kohtaro Mori of Mokkou Mori aims to model beauty in wood, create flowing shapes that can be expressed only by modeling with a kanna (Japanese plane), and craft products that showcase the benefits and value of the highly regarded Yoshino Wood.
Each Petal Stool is handmade by Kohtaro Mori. The unique wood grains, patterns and tones differ with each piece.

My workshop is in a former elementary school building located in the woodworking town of Shimoichi. I work mostly with Yoshino Cedar to produce furniture finished with a kanna (Japanese plane). At Mokkou Mori, we try to create products that showcase the benefits and value of the material.
