Artist statement
This extra large ceramic vessel is part of the series Expanse and is hand built using the ancient technique of coiling, the layers slowly rising in the heavily textured red clay, the vessel has no glaze and honours the natural colour of the clay it self, which has a deep rich natural red, the pot remains seemingly unfinished as we continue to grow and learn as people, sometimes in different directions, sometimes faster than other times, we become stronger as we pass through vast expanse of life.
The pot is highfired at 1260 degrees
