Artist statement
This object is a part of “Punctuation Marks”, a solo exhibition exhibited in Saga gallery- Tel Aviv.
This experiment is a search for the meaning of the architype, and for the boarders of our perceptions and language. I sought to challenge utilization and the morphological aspects of furniture by reducing useful surfaces to a minimum, where a chair appears and disappears by the smallest changes on design. In which point an object stops being functional and becomes something else? Can we adapt and use an object that is less than what our perception might approve. Can we still call it a chair?
The project has won the minister of culture design award of 2015.
Part of it was exhibited during London design Festival September 2015, 19 Greek street Gallery,
At Fresh paint art fair, and some other design exhibitions.
All objects were hand-made by Neil Nenner.
