Artist statement
Firmly anchored to the earth with soaring curves and energetic brushwork, Hemma evokes the dramatic transition of fall. Gestural strokes of dark green, brown and ochre atomize into the creamy background like the rustle of leaves on a chilly day. Hemma is a roomy, high-waisted pot with a generous flare to the rim that accommodates a substantial floral arrangement. And it makes a striking sculptural statement all on its own.
