Artist statement
Minimal block chair is made by creating a wood box and sticking synthetic carpet waste on it. Once the carpet is properly glued to the structure is hand dyed. After the material is dried, I developed a technique that allows me to transform and create a unique organic texture. This technique allows me also to make more complex shapes that can be discussed with the client. The carpet can be dyed creating ad-hoc colour gradients.
