Artist statement
One and a half is a duo-tone geometric pattern inspired by Mesopotamian cuneiform tablets and inlay. The rhythmic repetition of one square and a half in Tanganyika veneer and bone simultaneously creates dynamic vertical and diagonal lines that seem to be shifting from side to side.
