About the art
Artist statement
The Ashes_Mid vase is made out of rubber.
A novel materiality type was developed by combining the newest production techniques with handcraft.
The process utilises 3D printing, rubber rotation casting and freehand modelling to produce a flowing, matte surface overlayed with a sparkling pattern of jewel-like dots.
Each vase is freehand shaped, creating new folds every time and making every piece unique.
