Artist statement
Ever since I first spun a pottery wheel, I have been fascinated by the feeling of tension, the centrifugal force, and the touch of clay changing its shape in the hand.
The shapes of clay made from the spinning of the pottery wheel are associated with natural objects, architectural structures, the scenes of animations and movies, and so on.
I create various works, getting inspired by such images.
These days I use several parts produced by spinning the wheel and reorganize chaotic images existing in my mind.
By doing so, I try to express my imagined sceneries and create new images.
