Born in Beirut in 1971, Fadi Sarieddine has lived through the Lebanese civil war. In 1990 he joined the American University of Beirut to study Architecture in a country that needed rebuilding and later acquired a Master’s Degree in Architectural Design at the Bartlett School, UCL, London.
Both experiences have resulted in his experimental approach to furniture design. He tends to perceive things differently and that’s why his solutions are free from preconceptions. He is often drawn to how things come together outside of the world of furniture, from which he takes inspiration to create pieces whose materials are taken out of their usual context and put in new environments to give a new meaning. In his furniture, the form responds to its use, the container engages with the contained.
