Jinggoy Buensuceso is a visual artist, sculptor, and designer challenging the boundaries of contemporary art and design, a modern-day Pygmalion unafraid to mold difficult materials into immersive dreamscapes and tangible cosmic forms that seduce the audience to connect on both a physical and metaphysical level.
After finishing his Visual Communications degree at the prestigious University of the Philippines in Diliman, he proceeded to hone his craft in places as artistically diverse as New York, Singapore, and Manila. The creative aura of these places all played a part in forming Buensuceso's creative identity, ranging from the rebel yell of early breakthrough pieces, to the more stoic existential philosophising embodied by his later pieces. Buensuceso's art is distinguished by violent contrasts and opposing forces of nature; he creates hybrids of urban and organic forms that represent the duality of life and the universe.
Ever in the vanguard of art and design, Buensuceso has exhibited his work in several major galleries in Manila, alongside running his own design company, BETA Design. His distinctive oeuvre has earned accolades at Manila FAME, Wallpaper Magazine, and Maison & Objet Paris. Part of Buensuceso's vision involves sharing his life experiences and encouraging others to carve their own paths, as he does in his inspiring TEDx talk "Redefining Society Through Art".
