Mario TSAI, born 1988 in Qianjiang, Hubei Province, lives and works in Hangzhou.

Founder Mario Tsai established his studio in Hangzhou, China, in 2014. As a product designer, he focuses on solving problems through creative thinking and he has cooperated with many manufacturers from Italy, Denmark, Norway and China, such as Shangxia, Zaozuo, Ferm living and Woud. Nominated as the ‘Rising Star’ designer by the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair in Sweden and selected as the ‘Rising Talent’ by Maison&Objet in Paris, he held his first solo exhibition From the Structures during Milan Design Week in April 2019. His projects have been published in a number of prestigious online design publications. ‘Use less, design better,’ is Tsai’s maxim, which leads to designs of ‘soft minimalism’, which he describes as looking for a way for design to interact with people and exploring materials that improve society and the environment.
