In an atelier located deep in the mountains with a view of the beautiful sky, MoonRounds produces carefully crafted dishes and furniture with natural materials. I work with a range of Yoshino wood like Cedar and Cypress, and broad-leaved woods including cherry wood, mulberry, camphor, and horse chestnut wood.
The shape, temperature, hardness and movement differs with each kind of wood, and sometimes, each piece of timber – my challenge is in identifying the unique trait and value in each piece and carefully forming it accordingly. I create pieces with plant-based dyes and oils that bring you the simplicity and warmth of nature.
