Object van Brandenburg is a co-company of Architecture van Brandenburg, we design buildings and interior fittings in organic, curvilinear forms and our product range shares the same philosophy as our architecture, in designing practical, high-quality homewares with a natural aesthetic all designed and made in New Zealand. Our pieces range from large bronze tables to small ceramic homewares.

What inspires you?
We're always inspired by the things around us, usually natural forms, the body, movement and nature.
Describe your creative process.
Each of our pieces goes through a combination of processes from hand making, to digital fabrication, to crafted output. We place a great amount of attention on the tactile nature of the objects we have designed and feel these sit somewhere between the subjective aesthetic, a sculptural form and a practical application.
What are 3 words that best describe your work?
Sculptural, pratical, playful
Who are some artists that have influenced your work?
There are so many, we're big fans of Joseph Walsh, Thomas Heatherwick, Norman Foster and many, many more.
What is the most important tool when creating your work?
Computers, 3D printers and our hands.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
To always have the ability to 'play' and always ask 'why'. Why has an object been made the way it has? Does it have to be this way?
Where do you go for inspiration?
On adventures in New Zealand and Australia, there are such beautiful natural landscapes so close to home, but we're always inspired when we travel too. As soon as we're sitting on a plane somewhere our brains start ticking.
