David Gardner was born in Edinburgh in 1973, but has lived in Glasgow since early childhood. He has been a qualified Architect for over 20 years, with a passion for design and simplicity of concept. Heavily inspired by the likes of Sol Le Witt and Bridget Riley, David's art explores the subtle elegance of geometry, line and shape, working in freehand with fountain pen and hardline digital media for line drawings, and acrylic block colour painting.
Ideas are generated through small format sketch studies, taking influences from both work and the world around me, exploring how rhythm, repetition and form can be reduced to the minimum.
