Artist statement
‘Lucky’ is the latest exhibition from Australian Artist and Textile Designer Chris Chun, which features the 12 animals of the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Each animal combines traditional Asian symbolism with contemporary Western sensibilities to bring good fortune, health and happiness to their owner.
Among the Chinese Zodiac animals, Snake has the 6th position. Snake is regarded to be pliable.
Snakes are seductive, gregarious, introverted, generous, charming, and good with money. They rely on their gut feelings; are hard-working and intelligent.
