Artist statement
During a stormy afternoon, I was staring at the raindrops spattering against my window when it occurred to me that such a heavy downpour would have kept everyone indoors, regardless of the pandemic. And I was reminded of what life was like before Covid. So inspired by the spattering, I created a series of digital paintings of a time when life was free-er and more blissful. As I was working on them, I also began to be hopeful that perhaps one day, these paintings of the past would also resemble a future that has been restored to us.
