Artist statement
Created in 2020, this photograph is part of my "Dandelions" series, born from a time when the world felt confined and still. Walking my dog along the same path each day, I found myself captivated by dandelions—fragile yet resilient, bound to the earth yet destined to drift. I brought them into my home studio to explore their symbolism: a delicate structure on the verge of release, their seeds poised to catch the wind and set off on a journey of their own.
In this image, I wanted to capture the beauty of holding on just a moment longer, in harmony, before the inevitable parting. Each dandelion, though bound together in a small vessel, holds the potential to transcend and seek freedom. Through this work, I hope to evoke a sense of quiet resilience and the bittersweet readiness for change, reflecting our universal desire to soar beyond what holds us.
