I am an artist from the south of Chile, from the beginning of my artistic career I was addressing the most academic problems of art, and that has helped me to approach abstraction from a more deconstructive angle as well as from the logic of discourse.
I currently live and work in Santiago, I dedicate myself 100% to developing my works, I continue to address issues such as landscape, what interests me today is to talk about "man as a changing entity of that so-called landscape", as much as it is deconstructs and builds into something else, as well as in the different angles that this allows us to appreciate and how it changes, when you change as an observer, I approach my plastic work
from different angles and techniques, such as painting, sculpture, photography, video art, etc.
Today I am completely devoted to continue developing my work from different areas, both in the plastic search (sculpture, materials, equipment, techniques, etc.), and in the development of my work towards new digital media,
(metaverse, NFT, video art, etc.).
In general I work inside my studio, but sometimes I go out to paint my pieces outside, I really enjoy working listening to my favorite music.
What inspires you?
The naturalistic and organic aspect of my work finds its conceptual, inspiring and metaphorical support mainly in the natural landscape, matter and space. These works are clear allusions to the plant world that surrounds us, to the esoteric of the spatial landscape, above all, to the energetic of our natural cosmos.
Describe your creative process.
My creative process begins with photographs or sketches of ideas, which arise from observation, of the nature that surrounds me.
What are 3 words that best describe your work?
minimalism, organicity, neatness
Who are some artists that have influenced your work?
Tony Cragg, Ai weiwei, Matta
What is the most important tool when creating your work?
my hands as the main tool
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
never give up, persevere, despite any obstacle, art is 90% work and 10% talent.
Where do you go for inspiration?
When I want to find inspiration, I go with my lover to the beach, or also to the forest, I take photos, of small spaces, tree leaves, branches, stones, etc.
