Jae Won Choi was born in 1972 in Busan, South Korea. He received his Bachelor's and Master's of Fine Art from Hong-ik University in Seoul. In 2003 he attended Restauro del Mobile Antico, Istituto Superiore di Architettura e Design, Milano.
In 1999 he received the 21st Joong-ang Fine Arts Prize, Ho-am Gallery, Seoul. In 2016 he had a solo exhibition at idm Gallery in Busan. Choi has participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout Korea, and his works are in the collection of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea.
