Lila Koufopoulou is a contemporary artist born in Athens-Greece. Her life mission is to help people feel the beauty of WELLBEING. By creating healing, joyful, colorful paintings Lila reminds people the importance of optimism and playfulness in their lives.
She studied classical painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts in Greece and received her Master in Fine Arts in abstract video art at TUFTS University & the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston-USA.
In 1992, her thesis had the honor to inaugurate the department of Arts, Sciences, and Technology at Tufts University. That dissertation was exhibited in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 1992.
Before being involved in the world of Arts professionally following her dream, Lila studied Marketing and Graphic Design and worked for many International advertising companies as both an Art Director and an Account Manager (BBDO, Saatchi &Saatchi, Ted Bates, Alector/Lowe), in Athens-GR.
Between 1990-1992 and during her graduate studies, Lila worked as a teaching assistant (TA) to the instructor Tom Norton, at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, at the course "Advanced Concepts in Graphic Communication."
Her life long project "TRILOGY ABOUT SOUL - Chaos & Psyche, Games of the Soul, Dreams" focuses on the soul’s journey and transformation over a woman’s life, the empowerment of her self-trust and self-respect through life’s trials, the joy to live life as a child again, and the value of dreams and dreaming.
Lila’s artworks are included in the art collection of Piraeus Bank, the Uni-Pharma Pharmaceutical Laboratories, the Adelco Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetics, the private art collection of the former President & CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Athens, the FDO Construction, the Franco Compania Naviera S.A. and at the residencies of many entrepreneurs around the world and Greek shipowners.
A few of her art creations have been donated to special auctions for the new wing construction of the Franciscan Children Hospital in Boston and for the research of the Celiac disease at Columbia University, NY.
Two of her prints have also offered as the farewell gifts to the former Canadian Ambassador Alexander Peck and his spouse, and Canadian Ambassador Keith Morrill and his spouse, on the behalf of Friends of Canada in Greece. A third one was offered to the former American Ambassador Thomas Miller and his spouse, where they used it to decorate the VIP suite of the American Embassy in Greece.
