In her work, Melissa Arendt is often interested in portraying the visual variety of Earth’s occupants, environments and objects by assembling them together within her clustered art. She has always had a strong compulsion to force disparate visual elements together, thus creating a new whole. Ultimately, her work serves as a fragmented record of life on Earth, presenting assorted components that make it such a fascinating, complex, absurd and cherished place.
Arendt is a California native and studied graphic design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
