I am a ceramic artist who lives and works in Amsterdam.
I draw my inspiration in nature. I am passionate about our environment; my work very often represents the impact of human actions and the damage it is causing to the environment in particular oceanic ecosystems juxtaposed with representations of thriving sea life and vibrant colours.
My current work is influenced by corals and sea life. Coral reefs are essential to the health and biodiversity of marine life, and their decline due to climate change is a serious concern.I am using art to draw attention to the impact of human actions on our planet, raise awareness and promote change. By using organic forms and textures in my work, I create a sense of connection and empathy with the natural world.
My aim is to create products of the highest quality that will be functional as well as decorative and aesthetic.
All pieces are handmade, from start to finish, using a variety of techniques such as wheel throwing, hand building, slip casting. Many are thrown on a pottery wheel and then altered before being fired twice and then hand painted.
