Artist statement
Nevertheless I chose the abstract to express myself, I also love classical art.
Simone Martini is a Sienese painter of the 1300s who left many important works in Tuscany and beyond: among these, "Guidoriccio da Fogliano at the siege of Montemassi" is one of my favorites: the advanced knight surrounded by a landscape that highlights the solitude of the warrior, the leaden sky and the castle on the horizon... the colors of this famous fresco inspired me for my work, for a similar relationship between blue and gold, contrasting colors that enhance each other.
