The act of tying and throwing a pair of shoes onto raised wires from power lines is part of several different folk sports and cultural practices all around the world.

The piece belongs to a series of three "fashion landscapes", where a single element of fashion is used to convey the notion of a place or a scenery.
"Is a fashion painting just the act of taking fashion and appreciating it as a painting: colour, form and texture?" This was one of the answers to the question "What is a fashion painting?", the creative brief I assigned to myself for Vogue Singapore's March "Creativity" issue.
