In this series of work, I would like to present my speculations about human adaptation to commodity consumption and how they adjust capabilities that were once considered as “normal” and forced to change drastically due to global events. I try to address this issue using my visual language and artistic methods.
My intention in this artwork series does not point directly to the current pandemic situation but aims to persuade the audience to think and consider unknown events that might occur in the future whether they will be beneficial or harmful for us. It might occur to my mind that a human’s life might change to the unprepared circumstance, the one which evolved into a big turning point from our perspective.
To visualize this idea, I make half of each canvas a blank 'digital' image to explain undiscovered speculation; as something that has not been printed onto the actual object. As an extreme visualization, repetition of objects and product representations will be cut in half and overwritten with relevant symbols that I often use as the primary signifier. This drastic visualization method is important as a representation of my speculation; for we as humans do not know when the event will end or whether this turmoil change will continue as something regular or not.
