Artist statement
From my popular "Mountains in Washi" series.
Black Mountain is a visually floating Mountain in the far-off distance created in the very sophisticated Japanese handmade Washi paper painted with acrylics.
To mix my colors I use color mixing techniques first developed centuries ago by Japanese Monks to portray the "blush" of their highly venerated Cherry blossoms.
The entire painting is coated with clear acrylics to protect from UVs.
This painting is available transformed into heirloom quality handmade rugs by our Master Weavers.
