About the art
Artist statement
Post-Modern Bamboo in Washi
Is there anything more iconic for Japan than Bamboo?
It is so fitting to have Japanese handmade Washi paper be the medium for its fellow Country unique flavor and aura!
I grew Bamboo in my own garden and was taken by its indominable spirit and subtle strength and beauty!
This offering was created with a mind century color pallet in mind.
By mixing my colors the way Japanese Monks had developed centuries ago, I'm able to create a soft presence in the visually weightless Japanese Handmade Washi paper unattainable without.
The entire painting is coated with clear Acrylics to protect from harmful UVs.
Al of my artwork is available in heirloom quality hand woven rugs.
