In this work the artist intertwines the essence of time and the persistence of life. The sculpture symbolizes an eternal cycle in which beginning and end flow seamlessly into one another. The precise craftsmanship and the elegance of the shapes bring a special energy into every room, a quiet power and constant reminder of the transience and beauty of the moment.
Manfred Hellweger combined light maple wood and dark walnut wood into a single unit using complex glueing techniques.
The surface of this sculpture is finely sanded and treated with a special, translucent white oil. This prevents the wood from changing color over time.
