Artist statement
‘The Mountain’ short series of abstract expressionist works – part of the larger 'Variations and Abstractions' limited edition photography collection - uses soft gradients, light and shadow to create minimalist gentle curves and organic lines.
In my rural studio, I've used combinations of paper shapes, lighting and careful adjustments of the colour and tone of the image to produce what could be termed a a transitory photographic ‘sculpture’. I've also chosen to use minimal titles for the work, so the viewer can experience each print in his or her own way.
The size shown is of the printed image, and the print comes with a white border. The work has been released in a range of prints sizes, and are created using archival papers and pigment inks.
