About the art
Artist statement
Famara is a tiny windy village on the coast of the Lanzarote island. The special volcanic landscape provide unforgettable views created by the wind - the sea, the light and the volcanic rock formations.
This painting is inspired by a stay there.
The oil paint is applied with a spatula in several layers which creates a sculptural very tactile surface. This surface provide the life of the painting, because according to how the light reflects the piece the tiny little shadows make the color change.
