Artist statement
"Romero" is inspired by the aromatic herb rosemary. The light in the silvery sharp leaves, the tiny blue flowers. - Nature in large and in detail is always my inspiration. Here I try to capture the essence of this herb. You can almost smell it, when you look at the painting. - Although at the same time of giving this reference, still the work is abstract. - How do you explain the idea of a specific plant. It is almost like describing a good wine. It has the sense and fragrance of many ingredients. - When you let you draft into the painting, you find it.
