About the art
Artist statement
Calving glaciers have been become an iconic image of our time and as we move further into Climate Change and cope with the Pandemic they are all the more poignant. I made this form just as my youngest son left for University and completed it when he returned home because of the first, exhausting Lockdown.
Moulins are deep wells that form in glaciers; the melt-waters rush in and tunnel through until they break out at the bedrock. Then they continue to the ocean, easing the glacier's journey to meet the free-flowing sea.
Made from layers of beautiful, quality clays including porcelain this sculpture is fully weather-proof.
