Artist statement
The Karst sculptures are part of the Throwdown at the Hoedown Series that looks at geology and epic nature of climate change accross the history of the planet. The land here in the Forrest Fawr Geopark, the SW section of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, UK, was once warm, tropical ocean bottom. This sculpture is intended to be picked up and turned in your hand. It can be displyed on several sides. It is made of layered clays finishing with Glacier Porcelain and high fired.
