Artist statement
Abstracted impressionistic landscape.
This painting is a celebration of bright warm colour! The cloud like shapes bumping into each other and the focus of colour in the centre of the painting show my inspiration comes from staring at simple flowers. The shape and structure are simple but the flowers themselves capture me and arrest my attention, giving me feelings of joy and happiness. This is my aim with these abstracted pieces.
The paint is carefully layered and dripped on to the canvas to give a rich patina and interesting surface.
This 90x90cm canvas is unframed, it has white painted edges and is strung with picture cord ready to hang.
