Artist statement
In Hong Kong, buildings under construction or renovation are usually wrapped in a bamboo scaffolding, the only structure lightweight and flexible enough to withstand the powerful typhoons that hit the city every year. To minimise dust and debris from falling to the streets below, the scaffolding is then wrapped by a transparent mesh. This creates a colossal yet delicate skin around the skyscrapers and a surreal urban landscape throughout the city.
