Artist statement
Shan Jiang’s works transcend the boundary between fine art and illustration. Shan’s immaculately detailed and captivating works are the result of the artist’s constant exploration in developing visual language and style to express his personal and visual experiences.
Shan uses pen or pencil to draw first, then coloured his works digitally. Many of his works are influenced by Japanese Anime whereby he makes use of the digital medium to achieve the anime effect. In "The Jungle", Shan creates a fantasy world with vivid and captivating colours. It is a very fun piece of work with many interesting details, the more you look at it, the more you will discover and be amused by his creativity.
