Artist statement
This painting is part of 'LABS' series of signs-paintings, which various variants convey different emotions and experiences: from calmness and balance to dynamism and power. The series is part of my artistic studies on space, movement, and form on a flat two-dimensional canvas.
The painting was presented during my solo exhibition in TYMCZASOWA Gallery, Warsaw in 2018.
INSPIRATIONS: 'LABS' series is very much inspired by typography, sign and its dynamic, changing digital interfaces.
COLORS: All paintings from this series are kept in white and black with a small addition of mica and metallic colors (silver-gold), which - along with heavy texture - underline dynamic, powerful strokes and forms.
TECHNIQUE: The series is painted on the cotton+ linen canvas; colors are mixed with glossy and matte mediums, metallic paints, sand, and mica. The appearance changes with movement and light.
The painting is signed on the back, varnished, has painted edges, no frame required. Ready to hang!
