About the art
Artist statement
The triptych "Olives at Dawn" was created from the impression of seeing dawn in the mountains. On this morning, I found the state of the olives to be quite different. The trunks have mint and blue hues, the fresh morning sun breaks through the foliage and creates a very dramatic impression. It's as if there is a whole other life going on in these woods at night, filled with mystery and mysticism. I can only compare this feeling to my early childhood fantasies, when the fairy tales my parents read to me were intertwined with the images of the Siberian forests that surrounded me as a child. Being in a state of absolute relaxation and unity with nature, I almost got lost in the flight of my own fantasies about olive forests.
With this triptych I started working on olive trees in cold colors. I want the viewer, looking at these paintings, to be able to imagine the sound of rustling leaves developing violently in the wind, to imagine the aroma of tree bark with a sweet flavor and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of magical olive forests.
The painting is painted with acrylics using "sand" texture paste. Covered with acrylic varnish.
