In this abstraction, Singapore’s soul unfolds as a kinetic mosaic. Translucent skyscrapers, rendered in fractured glass and chrome, pierce a sky brushed with the earthy pigment hues of heritage shophouses. Their Peranakan tiles, vivid, bleed into steel-and-concrete grids like a dance of past and future. Each layer tells a story: the colonial whispers of past shadows, the post-independence grit of reclaimed shores, the tenacity of a nation threading tradition through modernity’s needle.
The artwork hums with paradox. Geometric precision, mimicking clockwork efficiency collides with the organic chaos of Chinatown’s alleyways, well preserved by gernations of watchful stakeholders. It was an era, in trying times of development, with great will and determination to preserve, bulldozers were halted, sparing temples and heritage for glass titans. Faint, ghostly imprints of laborers and architects linger, their sacrifices etched in smudged charcoal, a testament to human resolve.
Time is both villain and ally. Cogs and gears, fragmented like the city’s skyline, interlock with floral motifs influenced by migrants from far away land, engineering and artistry fused. The composition breathes, its rhythm echoing the city’s pulse and people will to progress with pride.
Development is not conquest but collaboration. A liveable city emerges: pragmatic yet poetic, where shophouses host fintech startups, and glass and steel structures showcases its modernity. This kaleidoscope, is no mere skyline... it is a manifesto. A proof that progress, when woven with memory, becomes not just a skyward ascent, but a mosaic of belonging.
