Artist statement
I found these calm waters on a pond in the early morning on a clear day. This image is from my “Odyssey” portfolio series, which features scenes that have been broken apart and reassembled into an abstract interpretation of the subject with an underlying geometric structure reflecting our desire to mentally dig deep into the surface of our environment to find its meaning. The entire image is composed of sections from the water and sky photos only. The calm water and pale blue sky presented a very meditative situation which I wanted to replicate.
