About the art
Artist statement
"In the "Red Curtain" series, an extensive red plane covers the black and white picture underneath, and becomes a significant element of the overall picture, it causes powerful associations and creates almost aggressive and impactful visual effect.
"Red" has a profound and rich cultural connotation in China. It is related to the concept of life, the state, the solemnity, and the rights. It is also associated with light, with something sacred, beautiful, and magnificent. The curtain suggests a secret, isolation, obscuration, hiding, and the unknown.
The presentation of this visual element may be an intuitive feeling and mapping of my inner heart."
