Artist statement
The beach is just an amazing place to be! Looking at the beautiful sea rushing wild and free but stops with a gentle touch on your feet enkindles the soul. When the Sun begins to set, the environment becomes ideal for your thoughts to drift amongst the waves and float in the deep sea.
SANDS BY THE SEA is a journey of self-discovery and an attempt to find true self. In this artwork, the sand, represented by paper cords, overlays the sea of natural cotton in deep blue.
Hundreds of knots in this tapestry requires discipline and patience. A weaving section is added and is curved and rolled to form 3D waves and is meant to bring depth and a striking texture. This artwork is sure to bring in a sense of peace, calm and serenity. As you get closer, you could feel the energy and the heart woven within the work.
Secure mounting brackets are attached and mounting hardware is provided.
