Artist statement
Of all things, a long haul flight to China helped inspire this faceted mirror. When seen from the air, the still water that had been collected in hundreds of terraced paddy fields, cut deep into the valley sides, caught the early morning light reflecting back flashes of gold.
The Terrace mirror recreates this experience by using multiple sections of mirror polished brass and steel, all set at varied angles to catch the light as you move past it.
