About the art
Artist statement
The structural grandeur of the famous Lincoln square located in New York was the great source of inspiration for the design of the Metropolitan table lamp.
Designed by the American Architect Wallace K. Harrison in the 60’s, the Metropolitan Opera House is clad in white travertine with full height structural arches that shape glazed recessed planes on the facade. At night, the light coming from inside the building illuminates the entire square. This symbiosis between the structural grandeur and the intense interior light was the great source of inspiration for the design of the Metropolitan table lamp.
