About the art

Artist statement
Located in New York, USA, the Lincoln square is famous for the performing arts that take place in a group of eclectic buildings that seem to create a dialogue with the centerpiece of this square, the Revson fountain, where people gather before attending the cultural events.
Designed by the American Architect Wallace K. Harrison in the 60’s, the Metropolitan Opera House is clad in white travertine with full height structural arches that shape glazed recessed planes on the facade. At night, the light coming from inside the building illuminates the entire square. This symbiosis between the structural grandeur and the intense interior light was the great source of inspiration for the design of the Metropolitan table lamp.
