About the art
Artist statement
This large bowl was turned from fresh maple wood in early 2020. I turned it on the lathe with hand tools, gauges and after turning it had to dry a couple of month.
It has a nive grain and color and in order to enhance the brightness of the maple wood I oiled it with white pigmented oil. If you want you can also use it as a functional
design object and eat salad from it if you are having a big family, however from the shape and form its more of a view and touchable object.
The bottom of the bowl has piece number #500 and my logo KK with name of the woodspecies Ahorn, which is the word for Maple in german language.
