About the art
As seen in
Artist statement
This Hollowform in shape of a sphere is made from a walnut tree log. The tree came down during a storm and the owner of the tree made the wood availbale for creating art and designworks from it. I hollowed it on the lathe with hollowing tools by hand. It was turned while the wood was still a bit wet, and had to dry for a while after being turned.
Finally some sanding and oiling of the surface makes it a nice object. It is not to be used with water as a vase, it is only usable as a twigpot or dry branches etc.
The bottom is signed with my initials KK and the piece number #488 and Nuß which means Nut/Walnut in German language.
