Artist statement
Arca shoe rack/bench is made up of thin slats of wood which encircle the piece supporting the main body and creating a sensation of movement. The slats permit constant ventilation while also creating an enclosed space.
Ideal for when arriving home as it allows you to sit down and change footwear while also providing storage space. Inside it has a removable shelf creating more space for smaller items.
The downward opening door is activated by a spring mechanism and descends slowly with the use of a piston.
Handmade using Brazilian hardwood Peroba Mica with details in Canela Preta.
